Written for my son

Guadalupe Vazquez

When my muscles stiffen and my blood sets,

Know I will one day see you again.

And when my heart  stops beating and my eyes can no longer cry,

Know you were the most beautiful part of my life.

And when my arms can no longer hold you and my voice cannot soothe,

Know if I ever spoke of love, It was you.

Guadalupe Vazquez was born October second, 1993 in Salinas California. She is currently enrolled in a creative writing program at Monterey Penninsula college. The beautiful landscapes of Monterey county inspire her melancholic writing.
