Josephine Pino

The rising  tide

was not shouting my name and the grackle

was not cooling its heels and the water’s edge

was not stealing my thunder and the mushroom cloud

was not heaven on Earth and the shooting star

was not my brother’s keeper and the honeybee

was not the dead of night and the full moon

was not a point on the map and the road to freedom

was not for the faint of heart and the ticking clock

                                                   did not lift all boats

Josephine is a biologist educator who has recently discovered that poetry, teaching and science not only play nice together, they help each other thrive. She started writing poetry two years ago and finds that she can't stop. She has published, in El Portal, Cathexis NW, Curating Alexandria, Raw Art Review, and Tiny Seed Literary Journal.
