Farewell/Despedida

A dream, like Icarus, took flight and soared

The rider travels straight paths

oblivious to the human pain that he drags.

The curtain of time is drawn

                      while change floods the streets

and custom entrenches herself

                                   against the last corners.

                               The piano seeks melodies

to weave amidst his white teeth

While aspiration on her unicycle

          balances upon the taunted rope

                                     of the horizon at dusk.

Within this rider’s heart, an unending tune:

I am kite chaser,

zenith who thrusts himself unto the storm,

                                      and the steppe pilgrim

I am rocking caravel

awaiting the vastness of the sea

and the silence of the stars

I am sailor who cannot find land,

                        alone

in his vessel upon the sea

My body is ethereal foam

                          and my soul, homeless wind.

Selene sighs

at tears which imbue my eyes,

                                tears for a distant dream

dock which reached will not be.

Why do I sadly crave land

when the sea is so beautiful?

                   Will my thirsty heart

                                          ever be quenched?

My lips, wet and pale,

             Tremulously refuse to speak

                     But my eyes reply

                             with their nostalgic shine

                     Flux before dreams,

                                my nest

                    but a solemn vestige.

trémulos se niegan a hablar;

más mi mirada responde

con su nostálgico brillar.

Antes del sueño está la muerte
