Strange Times

Klaus Smith

Italian by birth, I moved to UK in my 20es. I lived in London, and worked (and work) as a tattoo artist in Brixton and all over the old continent. I feel a deep connection with the European landscape and tradition and I strive to express it through my art. My personal work utilises a variety of artistic styles and techniques to better convey the meaning and feeling of each piece. I'm currently exploring concepts that might pose questions, especially about history and politics. The era in which we live goes through constant turmoil and shifting powers. As an artist, I feel the need to express this restlessness and the anxiety that comes with it through allegories. Not a day goes by without a change somewhere of our political Gestalt, which in turn has an effect on yet another change to come elsewhere. Images creates question. My work is a reflection of this.
